2007 - The Open/Close Exhibition was held in the BG in Amsterdam. Marlies Dekkers opens an exhibition named 'a very temporary art exhibition vol. 3', in which her lingerie and famous artworks were combined.

Retrospective Exhibition

2008 - In 2008 the 15th birthday of marlies|dekkers was celebrated with an exhibition in Rotterdam’s Kunsthal: Retrospective Exhibition ’15 years marlies|dekkers’. The exhibition was filled with Marlies’ favourite art, photographs, films and her own designs.

Chocolad’amour

2007 - The culinary Chocolad’amour is held at the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. Marlies Dekkers built up a stand with 150 kilos of chocolate, which was inspired by the ‘The Symposium’ of Plato: a philosophical piece in which chocolate stimulated the taste and lingerie stimulated the fantasy.

	And in the case of Mondrian, specifically, for me the association is pretty clear; there’s a focus on stripping down to the essential. That graphic element has always been a part of my designs. MARLIES DEKKERS

Zeebelt Prize

1991 - Marlies graduates cum laude and wins the Zeebelt Prize for best student of all art academies within the Netherlands with her final project (the naked-bottom-dress).

Solo exhibition Rotterdam Art Hall

1997 - Marlies gets recognition from a museum with a solo exhibition in the Rotterdam Art Hall. With this exhibition the Art Hall wanted to give Marlies Dekkers’ Innovative aspect of her creative designs some attention.

Vedute

2004 - Marlies was asked to make a design for Vedute (1991), which was exhibited in the Dutch Institute for Architecture. Vedute is a collection of 3D manuscripts that inlude object that represent visual thoughts. The result is a beautiful box with text in Braille: ‘My fear resists itself against an enjoyment which I shudder: I probe the deepest of my desire.’
